Woodside children are organized into four houses names after inspirational athletes:
Holmes (Blue)
Named after Dame Kelly Holmes the middle distance runner and Olympic gold medallist.
Song - Blue is the Colour.
Moore (Red)
Named after Bobby Moore OBE, legendary West Ham and England football captain.
Song - I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles.
Redgrave (Yellow)
Named after Sir Steven Redgrave, Olympic rower and gold medallist.
Song - The Eton Boating Song.
Wilkinson (Green)
Named after Johnny Wilkinson CBE, England Rugby player.
Song - Swing Low Sweet Chariot.
Children wear a Woodside t-shirt in their house colour for PE and games, and compete in teams then, and at our annual sports day. House points are awarded for merit during the week and the winning team is announced in Friday assemblies with their song sung by the whole school. There are sporting and other kinds of house competitions and year 6 House Captains, who take a leading role in the school.
Inter-House Shield Competition
This shield represents our school and the house colours we proudly wear. Holmes (blue), Moore (red),
Redgrave (yellow) and Wilkinson (green).
The houses teach us teamwork, which is so important at our school. The House Captains - pupils chosen to represent the houses - created a competition for children to design a crest representing each house.
This was the winning design.

Inter-House Competition
Our Inter-House competitions run throughout the school year. Each house has the opportunity to participate in a range of activities and are given the chance to represent their house and win a reward for all their fellow house mates.
