Reception

 

Please do not hesitate to speak to your child's class teacher if you have any questions. We are always willing to answer any questions you may have.

Classroom doors open at 8.45am in the morning and home time is 3:15pm via your child's allocated classroom door.

Please note the following information:

  • Children's learning in our Reception classes is planned around the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework, which is statutory for all children of this age in schools, nurseries and all other Early Years providers.

  • Adult-led activities are planned across the week to support key objectives, while children also demonstrate learning through high-quality continuous provision.

Pre-writing Skills

Child Development

PE Days  

On PE days, children should come to school wearing their PE kit for the whole day. 

Class Information:

RS: Monday and Tuesday

RK: Tuesday and Thursday 

RW: Tuesday and Thursday

Key Information

Reading books will be expected to be in school daily to allow us to listen to the children read throughout the week and monitor and assist with reading progression.

Children can bring in a daily snack (fruit) or they can help themselves to the free school fruit that is provided daily to all KS1 classes.

All children need to have a change of clothes in their bags in case of accidents or messy play. We also suggest that you supply your child with wellies and waterproof trousers that stay in school so that your child can access outdoor learning in all weathers.

Please ensure that all water bottles, lunchboxes, coats, jumpers and cardigans are clearly labelled with your child’s name.
