Intent
At Woodside Academy, we believe art inspires children to explore, express and understand the world around them. We nurture creativity, curiosity and imagination, encouraging pupils to share their ideas and feelings through a range of visual and hands-on experiences.
Through both independent and collaborative work, children develop confidence as well as important social and personal skills. Art is taught in focused blocks as part of our curriculum, with meaningful links made across subjects to deepen learning.
Our aim is to engage and inspire every child, equipping them with the skills to experiment, create and appreciate how art and design shape our world and its history.
