We are holding four more workshops on Tuesdays and Thursdays over Easter and year 6 children are urged to attend as many as they can. All sessions are FREE and this includes upbeat teaching in key areas of English and mathematics in the morning followed by lunch and sports or craft activities in the afternoon. One of these sessions will include a bouncy castle. Sessions start at 9.00 a.m. with access through the dining hall and finish at 3.00 p.m. but children can use the holiday club (8.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m.), again for free, if attending the workshops. The atmosphere is relaxed with children wearing their own clothes and, as it is the holidays, children may, at their own risk, bring mobile phones. We started these workshops after being disappointed with our results when the assessments changed in 2016 and; along with excellent teaching in class from our Y6 staff, they led to a very significant improvement. We recommend you take up this offer if you can and we know your children will not only benefit academically but enjoy them.
These workshops made a big difference last year with regular attenders getting 94% Reading, 94% Mathematics and 92% Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling.
