At the end of the most difficult term we can remember we need to say thank and well done to all members of our school community.
Well done to our children who have had to adapt to so many restrictions this term: what they can play, who they can play with and where, sometimes spending the whole day in their classes. Also, for the continued commitment to learning many children showed when they were forced to continue their lessons at home. Their behaviour throughout has been excellent and perhaps the best thing of all is that they have been able to become much more independent coming in and out of school.
Thank you to our staff who have continued to work in very difficult conditions and as well as being teachers and TAs have had to become waitresses and doormen, with teachers teaching children at home and at school at the same time, our kitchen staff catering for children in the dining hall, preparing "take-aways" for children eating in classroom as well as the home parcels and those amazing Christmas dinners. We have all had to learn how to use new technology with video lessons, assemblies and concerts, online meetings and some of us even managed the ultimate challenge of Google Classroom. Particular thanks are due to our site team and all those who had played a part in keeping the school clean and Covid safe.
Special thanks to all those parents who have supported us by keeping our Covid rules, our one way system, social distancing, staggered collections, wearing a mask and, when need be, staying home with your children and keeping them motivated in their learning.
Special thanks are also due at this time to Mrs Debbage who leaves Woodside today after 8 years to take up a teaching post in Wickford. We thank you for all your hard work, not only in class, but through the school fostering teaching of Spanish and Mandarin and helping is gain our first International Schools Award.
We hope you enjoy and safe and happy Christmas and look forward to seeing you again on Tuesday 5th January.
