Remembrance Day

We marked Remembrance Day 2021, 103 years after the end of the First World War, with our school councillors and house captains attending both the service at Grays War Memorial and the service at the new memorial in King Edward Drive where some of our parents helped to make flower beds. The Grays service was led by Rev Cannon Darren Barlow supported by the British Legion with the  Last Post played before the 11.00 am silence. Mr Radford played the Last Post at King Edward Drive. We made wreaths from natural and recycled materials which school councillors laid at both events. We pay the British Legion a donation instead of buying their wreath. We raised £245 by selling poppies in school and some children made poppy pictures which were part of the exhibition at Lakeside.  The services were filmed and streamed to our classroom screens so that the whole school could be part of it and remember those who gave their tomorrows for our today.
