Recycling in one of the many things we are doing to combat the Climate Emergency. We have been recycling textiles and shoes for some years in the bins outside of the front entrance. We are now adding specific items which are often not dealt with in general recycling:
Batteries - children have been given a box to bring in when full.
Bread bags - we are collecting these for a bakery that recycles them.
Latex Gloves - these are recycled creating funding for a marine charity.
Toothbrushes and empty toothpaste tubes - these are recycled to fund a charity that gives toothbrushes to children who have none.
We are also collecting plastic tops which we give to Lush for recycling but until art week (8th July) we also collecting metal, foil and cork bottle and jar tops to use in an art project.
