eHomework

We are now setting most of our regular homework electronically using:

  • My Maths & Times Rock Stars for mathematics
  • Bug Club for reading
  • SPaG.com for grammar, punctuation and spelling
  • LanguageNut for Spanish and Mandarin

Each week teachers will set homework for children, usually giving them until the following Wednesday to do it. We have moved to eHomework because:

  • it tells children immediately whether their answers are right or wrong
  • it means children can be challenged at their own level
  • it is more interesting for children
  • it saves paper.

Children should still take reading books home and will be doing the usual holiday projects.

We recognize that not all children have the same access to computers or other devices and the internet but these are free to use in your local library  and we may be able to arrange use of our computer suite if you have a particular problem. However it is supposed to be homework and we would really like children to be doing it at home; young children working with parental support and older children learning to work independently. This is excellent preparation for secondary school.
