The festival of Diwali has started today and, as the main celebration in on Thursday 4th November some of our children have asked if they can wear traditional Indian dress and the bindi (red forehead spot) that day. We have agreed. Diwali is a Hindu and Sikh festival but it is celebration of the triumph of good over evil and therefore open for anyone to take part.  Children who do not take part or just wear the bindi, need to wear their usual uniform.  The butternut squash and spinach risotto on the menu for that day will now be a curry.
