SATS are now a year away and we would like all year 5 children to attend our Tuesday and Thursday workshops at half term to get them on course for the best possible results. Mrs Edwards and Ms Gouldsmith will be running morning workshops with fun activities in English and mathematics; a free lunch is provided, and on Tuesday Miss Uren and Miss Johnson are leading art activities in the afternoon while on Thursday Mr Doye and Mr Hawkins are leading sports. The whole day is free and children who take part can also use the holiday club for free from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. that day. Children can do mornings only but can only attend the afternoon if they come to the morning session. Year 6 really enjoyed their sessions and it helped improve their confidence and general readiness for SATs. Children do not need to wear uniform but other school rules still apply. Healthy snacks will be provided.
Year 5's last year took part in "Sculptures on a Pallet" which are viewable at Thurrock Thameside Nature Reserve in Mucking. Entry is FREE and there is a visitors' centre and plenty to see besides our sculptures. Children have been working on this year's competition based on life underwater in the Thames.
