At Woodside Academy we see keeping children safe as essential. Ms Ryder is our "Designated Safeguarding Person" who leads our in-house safeguarding training and is the person other staff report to when they have cause for concern and the person who will then contact parents or, in certain cases, social service directly, to discuss the issue and make sure it is resolved so that we know the child will be safe. Following these procedures is a statutory duty for all staff and not a choice for us.
