Our Early Years and KS1 classes performed their nativity plays, while Y4 gave us Javanese Gamelan and puppetry to finish the autumn term. Spring term is the turn of Y5, who will perform their versions of Shakespeare's plays at the Thameside Theatre in the evening of Thursday 21st March, and Y3 who will be performing plays based on Samuel Pepys' account of the Great Fire of London the following week. Year 3 performances will start at 2.00 pm; 3B on Tuesday 26th, 3N on Wednesday 27th and 3M on Thursday 28th. Entry will be free and there will be the usual free creche. There will also be a choir and musicians' concert at 7.00 pm on Tuesday 2nd April and afternoon concerts showcasing Y3 steel pans and Y4 recorders; dates to be confirmed.
We had been arranging more evening concerts to make it easier for working parents but, as some children have not been attending the evening concerts, we will now be holding most of these during the day. This will ensure that all children participate in the final performance they have worked for. These will also be single class rather than year group performances, which will mean more children can have speaking parts and there will be enough room for parents and any another adult family members to see them. Each performance will preview to other classes including siblings of performers, and there will be a free creche at all performances.
