Free School Meals

We were pleased to hear that stopping free infant meals was left out of the Queen's speech, meaning that should be safe for a while. It is still worth checking whether your child could get free meals on the basis of your income however, as this would provide meals in the juniors and other support now. See below to find out how this works.

If as a family you earn less than £16,190 or you receive certain benefits (or if your child is adopted or has been “looked after”) you should claim Free Meals and the Pupil Premium for your child. This brings the school significant extra funding which we use to support learning in class as well as to offer any paid-for activities or visits at a reduced cost or free. This will also entitle your child to free milk.

Extra help for your child: Early Years Pupil Premium and Free School Meals (Pupil Premium is now a very important part our funding and it is vital that you apply for it if it could apply to your child.) You could be eligible if you get:

or

  • they are currently being looked after by a local authority in England or Wales
  • they have left care in England or Wales through:
    • an adoption
    • a special guardianship order
    • a child arrangement order
