The first phase of works will start from 18 December and will involve investigation work, fencing to secure the area, vegetation clearing and construction of vehicular accesses to working areas and to site compounds at A1013, Stanford Road and Orsett Cock Interchange.
These works will take place during the day and night where traffic flow permits. All scheduling of work, traffic management schemes, plant and equipment will be selected to minimise noise and disturbance to road users and to residents - works will be suspended during the Christmas and New Year period.
These works are planned to take place until spring 2018. Works will be suspended during the Christmas and New Year period (23 December to 2 January 2018). All affected properties and businesses will receive a letter with more details.
The main works are planned to start in May 2018 and be completed by March 2020. There will be no daytime road closures before May 2018.
No work involving the diversion of traffic on to the A1013 will be carried out until improvements at the junction of A1013 Stanford Road with Buckingham Hill Road have been completed. These improvements include the introduction of traffic signals. We are reviewing the designs for this junction, and expect the improvements to take place between February and April 2018. This work is separate to A13 Widening and is being led by a developer rather than the Council.
